This morning we visit the Planting Fields Estate and Coe Hall Mansion on Long Island. This magnificent estate boasts an elegant 65-room mansion and over 400 acres of lawns, formal gardens, greenhouses and historic outbuildings. Many priceless furnishings from the 16th and 17th centuries fill this Tudor-style English manor house. We will also enjoy lunch in an area restaurant. This afternoon we visit nearby Oyster Bay, where we experience the fun and excitement of the 34th Annual Oyster Festival.  This is the east coast's largest waterfront festival. Festival highlights include live entertainment, tall ships, top-notch artisans, midway rides and a wide variety of food. It’s a fun festival for people of all ages.  $135

Skytop, “The Pride of the Poconos,” at Fall Foliage Time

Fall Foliage should be at or near peak during this tour to Skytop. We head west to the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, where we make a stop at a local farm stand. Here, each person will get a pumpkin to bring home, and have time to shop in the farm stand and nursery. Next, we visit The Skytop Lodge, an exclusive 5,500-acre resort in the heart of the Poconos. Since 1928, this historic lodge has been affectionately referred to as “The Pride of the Poconos.” Listed on the National Register of Historic Hotels, it stands as a beautifully maintained tribute of a bygone era. The public areas of the hotel are elegant and extensive. The manicured grounds feature gardens, walking paths, a lake, and more. Our visit includes a delightful buffet lunch and a walking tour of the hotel. Time is also provided to explore the resort and grounds on your own. Terracotta Warriors Special Exhibit at The Franklin Institute

Join us for a visit to Philadelphia where we view a special exhibit of China’s Terracotta Warriors. We will also enjoy lunch and watch Mysteries of China, an IMAX movie. In 1974, a farmer near Xi’an, China was digging a well when he hit fragments of terracotta. He discovered one of the most unique archeological treasures in the history of mankind. Buried beneath the surface of that fertile farmland were thousands of life-sized statues. Created over 2,000 years ago, they silently and steadfastly guarded the tomb of their master, China’s first emperor. This fall, the warriors, who are symbols of the astounding achievements of mankind ,and their incredible history, arrive at the Franklin Institute. An audio tour of this exhibit that features soldiers, a horse, and over 100 other artifacts will add valuable insight. The IMAX movie takes us back 2,000 years, revealing the underlying story of how this superpower came to be, the discovery of the Terracotta Warriors, and the First Emperor's tomb.  $150

United Nations Tour with Lunch in the Delegates Dining Room

The United Nations is considered to be one of the most important and influential forums for world leaders to meet and discuss global issues. This morning we enjoy a guided tour of the United Nations.   A member of their international staff will explain the work of the UN and its related organizations. Our tour will take us to the General Assembly Hall, which was the setting for the largest gathering of world leaders in history. We will also see many of the works of art donated by members and friends of the organization. Following our UN tour we are treated to an elegant lunch in the prestigious Delegates Dining Room. It’s an opportunity to dine where world leaders have dined - and who knows who we might see. Time is provided to stroll the grounds of the UN and look at the architecture and artwork. This is a great opportunity to visit the UN gift shops which offer unique traditional handicrafts, gifts, and accessories from around the world.   Business casual dress is the minimum requirement. The Barnes Foundation contains one of the world’s finest collections of French Impressionists. The Barnes is located just steps away from the Philadelphia Art Museum and it houses approximately 2,500 works of art, including more than 800 paintings. Ebenezer Scrooge’s BIG New Hope Christmas Show at The Bucks County Playhouse

This great one-day getaway includes a delightful lunch in a popular area restaurant and an enjoyable play in an historic theater. We begin our day with a visit to the charming towns of Lambertville, NJ, and New Hope, PA.  Although these two towns are in different states, only a short bridge separates them.  Both towns feature numerous unique stores to browse in and an opportunity to stroll from one state to another. Our lunch is in the historic Lambertville Station Restaurant (1867), which reflects a unique blend of yesterday and today. Portions of it were designed by the U.S. Capitol Architect, Thomas Ustick Walter.  Then it is on to the Bucks County Playhouse.  The playhouse opened in 1939 and quickly became “America’s Most Famous Summer Theater.” In this intimate playhouse Helen Hayes, Alan Alda, Walter Matthau, George C.
