Day Tours

The Coffee & Tea Festival in NYC, Li-Lac Chocolate & Eataly

We begin our day with a visit to Li-Lac Chocolates, Manhattan's oldest chocolate house, in business since 1923. They make old-world artisan chocolate in small batches for exceptional quality and superior taste. Our visit includes a few samples and an opportunity to browse in this West Village shop. Then we head to the heart of the Flatiron District and visit Eataly, an exciting place to shop for and eat Italian food. Eataly is more than a supermarket with restaurants. It is an energetic marketplace that boasts the absolute best Italian producers from every region in Italy under one roof - and the absolute best chefs to cook their favorite dishes. It’s an excellent opportunity to buy hard to find delicacies. Time is provided to shop and eat lunch in this vibrant market. Then we will visit to The Brooklyn Expo Center where more than 100 exhibitors from around the globe pour samples of their finest coffees and teas and introduce us to new and award-winning products. Now in its 13th year, this international extravaganza celebrates all things coffee and tea with seminars from well-known industry pros and pioneers, pairings, tastings, and more! The 28,000 square-foot exhibit hall features some of the most delectable sweet and savory foods to compliment the spectacular collection of coffees and teas. $145

Sweet Caroline ~ A Musical Tribute at The Mt. Airy Casino

Get set for a show that will give us goosebumps, as we reminisce about the times when we first heard the songs that we now know by heart. We won’t believe our eyes and ears with this fabulous Neil Diamond performer and his band. The “Sweet Caroline” high energy show will find us singing along to all our favorite Neil Diamond hits such as Cherry Cherry, Sweet Caroline, America, Forever in Blue Jeans, and Song Sung Blue just to name a few. Our visit to the Mount Airy Casino includes a $15 slot bonus in the casino, buffet lunch and admission to the afternoon show (general admission). The Sight & Sound Theatre invites us to experience the greatest story of all time! Jesus is the action packed musical stage adventure that takes us on the miraculous journey of the most famous person to ever walk the earth, along with the everyday people whose lives he changed forever. Not only will we be completely immersed in the spectacular epic events of the story, but we will experience this incredible adventure as it unfolds on the 300-foot long wrap-around stage with 40-foot-tall sets, toe-tapping songs, professional actors and a message of hope. Our reserved seats are in the first and second row of the balcony. This is perhaps the best location to appreciate the grandeur of this one-of-a-kind theater. Independence Hall ~ Liberty Bell ~ Congress Hall ~ Reading Terminal Market

Today we visit the nearby City of Brotherly Love and relive the history our Founding Fathers created. Our day begins with a tour of Independence Hall, the building in which the Continental Congress wrote the United States Constitution and signed the Declaration of Independence. We will also tour Congress Hall where George Washington handed the presidency over to John Adams, and have the chance to view the Liberty Bell. Lunch is on your own in the Reading Terminal Market, which first opened in 1893.  It is now a National Historic Landmark building and one of America’s largest and oldest public markets. It offers a wide array of restaurants and shops. This afternoon, we join the festivities of the Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival, an annual event hosted in this charming neighborhood. It features fashion, arts, culinary demonstrations, street cafes, live music, live entertainment, family fun, beer and cocktail samplings, and about 100 various vendor booths. This tour requires a little more walking than some other tours, though it is not all at once. It is about 1 mile in total, all on flat ground. $110

Elvis ~ A Musical Tribute at The Mt. Airy Casino

Spirit of New York Lunch Cruise during The Parade of Ships

Ahoy! Fleet Week  is a seven day celebration in New York City, which honors the members of the United States Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Corps. Every year, this weeklong party kicks off with the Parade of Ships. This spectacular flotilla of visiting vessels and tall ships that cruise along the Hudson River takes place prior to them docking in Manhattan and nearby boroughs. This afternoon we are treated to a two-hour buffet luncheon  cruise while the Parade of Ships takes place. From the comfort of our ship, we will view the ships as they cruise past us. It’s an exceptional way to view the majesty and beauty of these world-class vessels. This is based on the currently scheduled time of The Parade of Ships. This time is subject to change, but we will do everything we can to cruise while the ships arrive in New York Harbor. $165

Long Island Nature Boat Cruise - Historic Stony Brook & Three Village Inn

Leave the driving to us as we travel to the North Shore of Long Island to the charming town of Stony Brook. You will have time to stroll its streets, browse in the many unique stores and explore the waterfront area. This afternoon we board a nature cruise in the beautiful wetlands filled with birds and marine life near Stony Brook Harbor. A naturalist accompanies us on our 1 1/2-hour nature cruise and provides us with the history, geology and ecology of the area of West Meadow Creek. Remember to bring binoculars for close-up views of birds and other wildlife. A delightful lunch is included in the Three Village Inn, an historic and elegant inn. This restaurant has been delighting its patrons since 1890. In case of high winds and or lightning, the boat cruise may be cancelled. If this happens, we will visit an exceptional nearby carriage and history museum instead. $175

Twilight/Evening Cruise of New York City

Our day begins with a visit to the lower Manhattan waterfront. It was once known as the World Financial Center.  After several billion dollars of renovations, it is known today as Brookfield Place. We arrive in time for a stroll along the Battery Park Esplanade and a visit to the 911 Memorial. Time is available for a light snack at Hudson Eats, a new and exciting food hall at Brookfield Place. We then make our way to Mulberry Street, in the heart of Little Italy, for an early dinner. Next, we enjoy breathtaking views of The New York City Skyline, as we embark on a two-hour Circle Line Twilight/Evening Cruise. Capture magical moments as the sunlight fades onto the harbor of Manhattan and the twinkling of lights make the city skyline come alive. Three Islands in a Day
Governors Island, Staten Island & Manhattan Island

Our day begins with a visit to Governors Island, a 172-acre historic park, recreation and festival area. We arrive via a short ferry ride from lower Manhattan. Upon arrival, you are free to enjoy this island on your own. Some suggestions of things to do are a ranger-led walking tour of portions of the island, a visit to the historic fort, the Admiral’s House, along with other buildings that contain current exhibits. Perhaps you might take a leisurely stroll around the island (approximately 2.5 miles) and take in the beautiful views of the surrounding area. Once back in Manhattan, we walk next door to the Whitehall Staten Island Ferry Terminal, a terminal where 20 million people pass through each year. Once on board the Staten Island Ferry, we take in beautiful views of NYC. Our ferry arrives at the brand new Empire Outlets, a world-class retail destination and New York City's first and only shopping outlet. Located on Staten Island's waterfront, it hosts approximately 100 shops of the finest brands, an extensive array of waterfront food and beverage concepts and unparalleled views of New York City. You will have time for lunch on your own, and time to explore New York City’s newest destination. This tour requires a little more walking than on some other tours. $95

Salem at Halloween Time ~ Haunted Happenings 2018

Salem, Massachusetts is arguably the ultimate place in the world to experience the fun and excitement of Halloween. There is never a dull moment on this tour when we visit Salem during this exceptional celebration. This weekend, thousands of costumed visitors will descend upon this historic community, geared up for fun and ready to take in the thrill of its festival type atmosphere. The Haunted Happenings 2018 Salem Festival is an exciting event like no other. It features street closings that create a vibrant open-air pedestrian mall with numerous food and craft vendors and more. In addition to the excitement of Halloween, we have added many historic and fun attractions in Salem. We will see a dramatic short play that was written from the transcripts of the witch trial of Bridget Bishop, convicted of being a witch and then sentenced to death.
